American Women's Literary ClubThe American Women’s Literary Club (AWLC) meets on the first Monday of every month at 3:00 p.m. from April through December at the Chase Hall at Union Church. The AWLC will hold the VII Noche de Música at the residence of US Ambassador Michael McKinley and the club’s Honorary President Fatima McKinley on June 17 at 7:00 p.m. There will be a performance by the Conjunto de Música Antigua de la Pontificia Universidad Catolica del Perú. The proceeds will benefit the Instituto Pedagógico Nacional Monterrico which this organization has been supporting for the past 30 years. Tickets are 100.00 soles and ID must be provided at the time of purchase. Raffle tickets are also being sold at 20.00 soles; prizes have been donated by Royal Caribbean, Vasco Jewelers, Condor Travel, Giuliana Testino and Casa Chic. Not only Canadians. The CWC is all about fostering friendships, providing support for newcomers to Peru, and helping local charities. The CWC meets on the third Thursday of every month in a member’s home and organises outings – anything from museum visits to cooking classes – on the fourth Thursday of the month.
