On behalf of your American & Canadian Association's Board of Directors, I would like to wish all of our members a very happy New Year. May 2010 bring good health and good fortune to all who live in Peru.

As the new year begins, I have been reflecting on how quickly time passes. It seems like just yesterday that we were all celebrating the new century but now a full ten years have passed! (Ok, nine years before someone corrects me.) ACAP has been very active during these past ten years - saying goodbye to old friends and hello to new ones, adding lots of activities for young and old alike, and opening associate membership to all who are interested in our Association.

In January we will say a fond farewell to Shad and Joan Prashad, two very active ACAP supporters for a number of years. We will also welcome new members and encourage them to be active in ACAP. During the month we will have dinners, social events, an annual meeting and a beach day at Santa Maria beach. Lot's going on and more to come during the year.

This issue of the ACAP Magazine celebrates ACAP itself. The Association is strong and getting stronger as we add more members and more activities. As always, the Association is only as good as the efforts that members put into it. Your Board of Directors and the committees that arrange all our events during the year are all volunteers. We need more members to get involved as we expand our family events and our charitable outreach efforts, so if you can donate one or two hours a month, give the office a call. Specific committees and events that need your help include: Restaurant night, social nights out, membership & advertising, corporate sponsorship, charitable outreach, the annual picnic, the annual Black & White formal ball and the annual Christmas lunch.

All the best,

Tom Findley
