The American & Canadian Association of Peru is an organization dedicated to bringing together American and Canadian citizens in both social and business situations. Since 1917 ACAP has been building a legacy by strengthening the bonds of social activities and corporate partnerships here in Peru. Today we also have an associate membership to allow English speaking residents to join with us. ACAP has flourished as new companies have brought new families and associates to Peru. As the expatriate community grows, the Board of Directors has responded to the 21st century needs of the group. We've initiated committees to attract young adults, who's careers are global and we've added more family oriented activities. In addition to the social events that we sponsor such as the Annual Picnic, monthly restaurant nights (and luncheons) and the elegant Black & White Ball, the Board has recognized the need to provide benefits. We are exploring many avenues and there are even many establishments where we receive discounts. We have expanded our horizons by reaching out to both the Canadian and American embassies and working on ways to bring our members up to date on issues that they need to be aware of. Annual luncheons for U.S. citizens and Canadian citizens with representatives of their respective consulates provide valueable information. Our charitable committee is currently working with groups still assisting villages and people trying to recover from the earthquake and the Social Benefits Committee just held it's First Annual Toy Party at a local orphanage.
