Kobi and Sandra Zalait
It was pure destiny that brought Kobi and Sandra together. They met 12 years ago in party-town Cancún!!! At the time, Kobi was in his last year of College at Montclair State University in New Jersey. He went to Cancún with his best friend to scuba dive and, of course, to party! Sandra was on her 4th year of law school in Universidad de Lima. She went to Cancún during her school break with two friends. They met randomly through Kobi's friend who, out of the blue, started talking to Sandra. Thank God for that friend!!

After Cancún, Kobi and Sandra returned to their hometowns to finish their studies. Sandra had two more years to go to finish law school. So, during those two years that followed Kobi and Sandra were managing a long-distance relationship between New Jersey and Lima. Although challenging, they managed to see each other twice a year during that time by visiting each other and traveling together to other parts of South America. The internet, along with expensive long distance phone calls, helped to stay in touch during this ever lasting time. Finally, shortly after Sandra graduated from law school they were united in California, where Kobi had been transferred to work.

Kobi and Sandra began their life together in sunny California where they lived for 8 years. First, they lived in beautiful San Francisco. Later, they moved to college town Davis, while Sandra was attending law school at UC Davis. Eventually, they settled down in Orange County. That is when they decided to tie the knot. They managed to fly to Lima with a bunch of friends and Kobi's family members and have their dream wedding. In OC, Sandra worked in a law firm for 4 years while Kobi worked in the mortgage industry. After a few years of hard work they decided that it was the right time to experience some “change” in their life.

During all those years in California, Kobi and Sandra had come to Lima several times to visit. Kobi always liked the life style in Lima, so the idea of living here started to itch… When time for a change came around, he thought what a better idea than to move to Lima for a few years. Sandra was thrilled with the idea. Shortly thereafter, in December 2007, they packed their basic possessions and moved to Lima!!!

Kobi and Sandra are enjoying very much their new life here. They live in an apartment in Miraflores. Often you can see them walking around the “malecon” or sitting at a restaurant trying some new interesting dishes. Kobi and Sandra share a strong passion for traveling. Every time they have the chance, they do not think twice before jumping on a plane, car, bus, etc. and head to a new destination.

Most of Sandra's family lives here, so they are enjoying many family events. Through organizations like ACAP, Kobi and Sandra have also found a great group of friends. Although they came with the idea of staying only a couple of years, at this point Kobi and Sandra are realizing that their stay in Lima could become indefinite!!!
