VIDA, a new and upcoming restaurant tucked under the Puente de Los Suspiros (Bridge of Sighs) in Lima´s bohemian Barranco district, was the scene for ACAP´s November restaurant night.

After the customary pisco sour, more than 40 members and guests enjoyed an entree of Causa Kubos, colorful mashed yellow potato cubes adorned with shrimp, smelts, or squid. The main course offered lomo saltado or risotto with crawfish, and both were delightful. For desert, home made banana cake with a whipped cream sauce.

Barranco offers the perfect setting for dinner out, with well kept turn of the century properties once used for Summer homes by Lima´s elite. Cobble stone walkways and lots of flowers adorn the area, and there are pubs, discos, and restaurants galore to permit a most enjoyable evening. Friday and Saturday evenings, Lima´s younger set sing, drink, and dance until the wee hours of the morning. The Pedro de Osma museum is a must for colonial art. A good excuse to return soon!
