FASHION AND TALENT SHOW
Students from IB worked very hard this year on their Fashion and Talent Show which took place at our school coliseum on October 26th. The event had a full house and parents proudly watched the work that reflected our students efforts and friendship.

HOUSE WEEK
November is our special month as we celebrate our 44th year of Educating for Excellence. For this month we have several activities. One of the most eagerly awaited by our enthusiastic parents is the House Week. House Week is when parents and students get together to demonstrate their spirit of competition in this full week of fun. We are sure that this will be as enjoyable this year as in previous years.

CLASSROOMS WITHOUT WALLS
The Colegio F.D. Roosevelt Middle School proudly announces our Classroom Without Walls (CWW) educational trips for students of Grades 6, 7 and 8. The CWW programs are carefully planned trips providing experiential learning opportunities, allowing our students to connect school learning with the real world. CWW provides a feeling of community and team spirit among classmates, promotes an understanding of different cultures represented by our international student body and cultivates social consciousness through community service. All students finish their trips with a visit to the local orphanage sponsored by each grade level.
• Our 6th Graders will explore the history and geography of the Andes visiting Cusco, the Sacred Valley of the Incas and Machu Picchu.
• Our 7th Graders embark on an Amazon adventure while learning about the biodiversity, geography and economics of the Amazon River Basin.
• Our 8th Graders study the history and the geography of the coastal region of Trujillo, sites related to the Chimu and Mochica cultures such as Chan Chan, The Lord of Sipan, and Tucume Pyramids.

EARTHQUAKE APPEAL- “Rebuilding Children's Lives”

Please do not relax with your efforts to fund the many projects to rebuild the south after the devastating earthquake.

With the support of several donations from IB and LAHC schools, as well as with internal fundraising, the British Schools of Peru and Roosevelt have been involved in rebuilding classrooms and are working on a large project to rebuild a school with seismic building conditions. This is a big undertaking but we have experience after the Racrachacra and also the Arequipa/Moquegua disasters. If you wish to donate, you may already have a connection with a school. San Silvestre's earthquake account can be found on our web-page and is:

Scotiabank:
Soles - 170-0510959
Dollars - 170-0510964

Fundraising so far has been very successful and this year's efforts will end with a Charity Concert to be held in the San Silvestre auditorium (main campus) on Friday, 30th November. Tickets will be available at the school office and all proceeds will go to the earthquake relief fund. Together we can rebuild not just a school, but children's lives.
