The sun shone.

Old and new friends mingled.

And so Canada and The United States celebrated their national days on June 23 at Colegio Roosevelt.

It was a day of festivities.

Musical entertainment.

Good food and drink.

The day began with the honoring of the three nations and their national anthems: Peru, Canada and the United States.

Welcomes came from Association President John Park and Embassy officials including Ambassador Curtis Strubble.

Booths provided information and delicious samples.

A highlight was the demonstration of the Peruvian Paso de Caballos following by a beautiful rendition of the marinera dance.

Children had their faces painted and played games happily.

The event ended with a bang as the sun went down and fireworks exploded.
