Annual General Meeting 2007
 75 members as well as a few friends and guests filled the garden and pool area of one of our member's residences in San Isidro. The night's weather was picture perfect, clear and balmy; even the moon cooperated by shining brightly.
The meeting was called to order just after 7 p.m., and as most of our members arrive punctually to events, they were present to witness the fastest, easiest, most informal official meeting in memory. Well done, Mr. President.
Ms. Phyliss Powers, the Acting US Ambassador welcomed us all and proceeded to hand over the Honourary Presidential position to Ms. Genevieve Des Rivieres, the Canadian ambassador to Peru. Ms. Des Rivieres expressed delight in holding the position again and assured the members that the Canadian embassy was interested in promoting the Association amongst the Canadian community. Praising the newsletter, she also requested a bit more Canadian content, please.
The 2007 Board of Directors was presented to the captive audience, after a no contest election; photographs were taken and we were asked to pass into the sunroom where the cook and staff had laid a sumptuous feast.
BBQ filet of beef with herb roasted potatoes, more than one form of tomato salad, and BBQ ed fresh ears of Peaches and Cream corn, which had been cut especially for the dinner and sent up from the farm.
Dessert was a fruit salad in a fresh strawberry coulis which pleased the ladies to no end and caused more than one male chocoholic to question my authority to choose desserts.
A very, very pleasant evening was had by all; thank you again to the generosity of our members who open their houses so readily to us.
