Web Scout
Teach that Mining Matters
By Marcia Koth de Paredes
This WebScout includes descriptions and photos of minerals and rocks for the fun of students and collectors. A second section gives examples of lesson plans and other teaching aids for schools and universities. The Canadian Prospectors and Developers say that they hope their web Mining Matters is "Inspiring teachers to bring the importance of rock, minerals, metals and mining to life." I found few Peruvian examples so it is my hope that the following will encourage preparation of educational materials on minerals and mining in Peru.
