Introduction to Mining in Peru

Mining currently supplies over half of Peruvian exports and it is important that there be more widespread information about the industry. Last year mining contributed 54% of the total exports.US$8.9 billion of the $16.5 billion total with sector growth expectations for this year between five and six percent. This Web Scout selects a few free portals and links to learn about the mining industry. Next month I plan to give examples of lesson plans and research. Employers, teachers and parents should encourage understanding about minerals, mining and metallurgy since there are social and environmental impacts in addition to the economic that are of great importance to the country.
