St Valentine's Day Dinner Dance
Fifty-two members and friends made their way through the Colonial house to the Spanish courtyard of the Casa Moreyra, where the tables were set in the open air. On a warm summer night, it was a relief to be outside and in such a lovely setting.
Pisco sours and fruit daiquiris ensured that the conversation quickly became animated, everyone catching up on everyone else's summer vacations, children, plans. All too soon, the dinner was served - an artichoke salad as first course, followed by Chateaubriand with vegetables and a semifreddo of tiramisu. Coffee followed for those who wished it, and thank heaven nobody brought out the cognac or we would have been there till dawn, chatting instead of doing what you are supposed to do after such a meal.
Dance
A mix of salsa, 80´s music and even the good old Beatles kept the area around the fountain hopping. One game member, who had just sprained his ankle, would not be stopped….complete, loveable madness.
A good evening, and having it on the Saturday before St. Valentine's Day meant that you had a chance to do it all over again on the day itself!
