September Restaurant night at Punta Sal
Well, that was a success!
Over 60 friends gathered on the top floor of the restaurant, overlooking the sea.
The ubiquitous pisco sour was served, as we chatted and greeted members and guests alike. As a last minute treat, Arturo Vega presented the line of Chilean wine that he represents in Peru. A short explanation of the different wines in English was followed by a tasting of each wine. He had brought 30 bottles! So we tasted, and drank, then quaffed to our hearts' delight. Oh yes, dinner was served as well. A first course of baby octopus, (to die for), a Caprese salad that had fashionable height, followed by what must have been the gastronomical highlight of the evening, the sea bass with scalloped potatoes and grilled asparagus in a port sauce. Cheesecake and lucuma/ chocolate cake were the final touches to an excellent dinner.
Laughter and conversation seemed as if it would never end until we realized that as responsible adults we had to work the next day, so reluctantly bid each other and our congenial hosts, Gaby and Adolfo Perret, a fond farewell.
