RECENT EVENT
Well, you already know the final results, Philadelphia, er, I mean New England won and the team walked away with another Super Bowl ring. While the action on the field was interesting, there were other interesting events taking place in LIMA.
While the teams were playing their hardest in Jacksonville, a large group of ACAP members were "PLAYING" their hardest at the Corner Sports Bar in Miraflores. With over 30 members in attendance, we enjoyed the food, the drinks, the ambience but most importantly the COMPANY of other ACAP members! With such a diverse crowd as ACAP, it was no wonder that there were cheers no matter what team scored.
The "Corner" was gracious enough to accommodate us upstairs, where along with 9 or 10 regular size televisions they also have a "BIG SCREEN TV" so it felt like you were right in among the action.
Among those present for the “action” were John Lakatos (ACAP President), his son Erik, Andrea Harman (the ever helpful young lady in the ACAP office), Martin Singer and Dina Chabes (Dina is the current year's President of the NEW - ENGLISH SPEAKING - Rotary Club), the ever- popular Reverend Mark Atkinson and his beautiful wife Lois Ann, Tom Findley and Lucia, Vicki and Darryl Wagner, as well as Fred and Richard Sears, Liliana and Murray Weston - newly returned from New Zealand (Liliana is a diplomat in the Peruvian Government, her catch in New Zealand was Murray, a Business and Financial Advisor). Rachel Lujan, a regular at the "Corner" and a knowledgeable source on festivities in Lima, was heard saying this was one of the best Super Bowl parties in Lima and the place to be in 2005!
