ACAP Joins Hands with Prestigious Cooking School
to Present Famed U.S. Chef Joanne Weir

In what is sure to be the most flavorful night of the year, a show of culinary wizardry will be taught by the PBS celebrity chef Joanne Weir on November 19.

The award winning cookbook author and cooking show host will present a live cooking demonstration and tasting at the elite culinary arts school in Peru, Le Cordon Bleu.

This unique event will be hosted by ACAP and Le Cordon Bleu Peru. Tickets cost $25 and only 100 seats are available.

Weir is the host of the popular public television series, “Weir Cooking in the Wine Country.” She cooked for five years at Chez Panisse and has studied with Madeleine Kamman.

 

Where: Cordon Bleu Culinary Arts School of Peru, Vasco Nuñez de Balboa 530, Miraflores.
When: 7 p.m. Friday, November 19.
Cost: $25 per person. Paym

She received the Julia Child Cooking Teacher Award of Excellence in 1996 and three of her cookbooks - “From Tapas to Meze,” “You Say Tomato” and “Joanne Weir’s More Cooking in the Wine Country” - have been nominated for James Beard awards.

Her latest series, “Weir Cooking in the City” was filmed on location in San Francisco, her home cooking city. It was aired on PBS stations nationwide in April 2004.

On Nov. 19, Chef Weir will create her tantalizing dishes before your eyes in Le Cordon Bleu’s state of the art demonstration kitchen in Miraflores.

The auditorium is loaded with high-tech multimedia equipment that allow every tiny detail of the preparation of the gastronomical delicacies to be seen. The intimate setting will allow the tantalizing aromas of these enticing plates to be savored as well.

Following the demonstration, the audience will have an opportunity to taste all of the dishes that will be featured in this well thought out menu.

The school will also have their cafeteria open after the event for you to indulge yourselves in the purchase of different tapas. There will be wine available for a modest price.
