Sunburns notwithstanding - fifty ACAP members and their guest enjoyed a glorious summer day at Las Palmas on Saturday January 8th.

ACAP members bathed in the delightful pool - reported to be the largest in the beaches south of Lima - and a few (your Newsletter editor among them) braved the oversized waves and red warning flags to swim in the the famed ocean surf of Asia.

Many thanks go to our hosts Pilar and Alvaro Muñiz -who invited us to their famed beach club in Asia and also fired up a row of BBQs so we could cook our favorite grilled meats and then offered scrumptious “mazamorra morada” and “delicia de mango” for dessert.

Lots of “papa a la huancaina,” “habas,” fresh tuna and salads were also available to round out what was truly a memorable luncheon feast!

Thanks also to Linda and Andrea, who worked hard to make this a very special day. More than one member was heard to say “this was my favorite ACAP event ever!”
